Zynga Closes CityVille 2 and Two Other Recent Games

CityVille 2
Amidst Zynga’s current problems (including a string of key staff members leaving and a great deal of game closures last year), they today announced in a conference call that they’d be closing three games, all of which released within the last four months.

CityVille 2 (released in November), The Friend Game (released in December) and the mobile game Party Place (also released in December) are all set to be closed.

The closures are thought to be a sign that Zynga is no longer willing to take unnecessary risks, with CityVille 2’s closure possibly also being related to the departure of chief designer Brian Reynolds last month.
