Ouya Game Approval Process Starting this Month

Ouya’s CEO Julie Uhrman has said that the internal review process for game submissions will begin around the ‘middle-to-end of this month’. With the first batch of Ouya consumer units supposed to be sent out in March, they’re left with a very short period of time to go through all of the game submissions they’ve received and complete the review process.

Apparently this shouldn’t be an issue though, as the review of each submission is intended to be a quick review of each submission just to check for malware, any overtly offensive content (such as ‘excessive pornography’) and intellectual property infringement, wherein afterwards the submission should then reach the storefront. If it’s as simple an inspection as it sounds, we can expect most of the submissions to be reviewed and approved pretty quickly, with very few submissions not making it through to the storefront.

Not all bad news, mind — I’m sure some of the game submissions are of poor quality, but the more the merrier, right? After all, I want a reasonably full library by the time the console sees its full retail launch in June of this year.
