Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken on PS Vita Today

Rocketbirds Hardboiled Chicken

PlayStation Vita owners worrying about your lack of decent games for your console, never fear! Originally released on the PlayStation Network back in 2011, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken by Ratloop Asia rapidly became one of my favourite game releases of 2011.

Thank the Vita Gods then that a port of the game comes out today for the Vita, because it really needed games like this. Frankly, every console needs a game where you play as a chicken shooting up an evil regime of albatross. And every console deserves to have a soundtrack by the amazing New World Revolution too, to be honest.

The Vita version has been souped up a bit from the PS3 version, meaning tilting screens, a new final boss and slightly tweaked levels, a secondary difficulty setting and an online co-op mode are now slammed into this rather cheap $9.99 title.

Owners of the PlayStation 3 version should get two free additional co-op characters –┬áSniper Budgie and Agent H – as well as a 20% off discount for the Vita release. I highly recommend you go and buy it from the PlayStation Network, because the Vita is severely lacking attractive games and there’s no reason to miss a decent game when it’s not going to set you back a hefty price, is there?
