Will One of These PlayStation 4 Controllers Be the Real One?
The PlayStation 4 is, with almost complete certainty, going to be announced on the 20th February. With this there have been many rumours, supposed leaks and apparent patents of possible PlayStation 4 controllers popping up — and I mean many; some plausible, some probable and some outright definitively made
Below is just a sample and a brief description of PS4 controller pictures that have popped up over the last week online, in rough order of which are most probable.
The recently widely-publicized controller that is expected to be the console’s controller prototype.
Here’s a picture defining what’s different about the previous apparent prototype.
A patent filed by Sony in 2012 for a ‘PS Eyepad’ popped up. Likely another idea or prototype thrown about the place though.
Likely a mock-up by someone picking on the flying rumours this week, this apparent controller, ‘the SplitShock’ has a touch-pad in the middle, a share button and is Move compatible.
Aaaand here’s the SplitShock split in two to allow easier Move access.
Similar to the prototype picture. Likely a mock-up based on the rumours of a touchpad and share button.
Another probable mock-up based on the rumours of a share button and touchpad.
Likely an old concept photo mocked up by someone.
This one even looks pretty fake, especially with the ‘start’ and ‘select’ buttons.
There’s obviously no chance that this awkward-looking boomerang model ever existed.
Probably a mock-up created in order for us to believe that Sony’s answer to the Wii U was two screens on a controller.
This is not ever happening ever and is very silly. We should all leave now.
Basically the same as the current controller but with LED buttons.
An old picture that got some coverage a long while back (even by UK newspaper The Sun)
