Good news to those OUYA supporters of us — the company today announced via its Kickstarter page that the consoles will be shipping to Kickstarter backers who pledged enough for a console starting on March 28th.
With general shipping dates yet to be announced, there’s still good news for people who have yet to order one: the company also announced some more famous developer support that the console will have.
Papo & Yo‘s studio Minority Media is currently developing a game for the platform, with Portal‘s creator Kim Swift also currently developing an OUYA-exclusive title. On top of Tripwire Interactive (developers of Killing Floor) developing two games and nWay working on Chrono Blade, Journey developer Kellee Santiago has been brought on board to ‘lead developer relations’.
It may not end up being able to compete with the likes of the PS4 or next-Xbox, but at the moment the OUYA looks like it will definitely belong beside them in your home.
