In case you’ve forgotten, Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada teased a new project at last year’s E3. Previously only known as ‘Project Happiness‘, the game now has the official title of HomeTown Story.
Wada tells Famitsu how the game is close to 60 percent complete, with mostly only the story still left to deal with. With the game coming to portable consoles in Japan this year (with Natsume releasing it in North America and Rising Star Games in Europe), the game plays similarly to Harvest Moon. Playing as a merchant in a village, although you meet fellow villagers to attract them to your store, the game focuses less on your store and more on the people — meeting new villagers and forming friendships is what the game’s really about, basically.
As if a game like Harvest Moon wasn’t tasty enough, famed composer Nobuo Uematsu has recorded the game’s theme song, which you can hear here on the game’s debut trailer below.
