Pokémon Rumble U: NFC Figure Trailer and Screens

Pokemon Rumble U figuresThe original Pokémon Rumble game for WiiWare was awesome and Pokémon Rumble U for Wii U is set to be an awesome game too, now taking on the Skylanders/Disney Infinity business model of selling figures that will scan in to the game.

Being the first use of the GamePad’s NFC feature, referred to as ‘the first set’ by the Pokémon Company these various small figurines (ranging from Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Torchic, Piplup, Lucario, Victini and a currently unannounced ‘special’ figure) will be available in those little capsule vending machines, costing around ¥200 in Japan (about £1.20/$2.08) with a special carrying case later becoming available to purchase in shops for around ¥780 (about £5/$8).

Check some pictures of the figures below as well as the newly-released trailer for the game showing off the NFC features, figures and gameplay in action. Plus you get to listen to a Japanese man say ‘Pokémon Scramble U’, so there’s that.
